Subject: [CR]Chris Beyer and the list

I've been away from the CR list for quite a while, and for some reason chose to day to take a peek again at what the discussions were. Needless to say, I was saddened and a bit shocked to read of his passing. I've now read each and every posting concerning his passing, and I must say it's nice to have one's impressions of another person validated. I, like so many others on the list, made some trades and purchases with Chris. During our email exchanges I too asked him about a connection to Don Beyer Volvo in northern VA. He jokingly replied that he wasn't connected to him, but sure wished he had his money. I now see that so many others inquired about this and when he could have said something like 'geez, everybody asks that', instead he made a self depricating joke about it. To my mind Chris seems to have had something far more valuable than Don Beyer's money: a manner and character that people instantly liked.
