H'mm, he's got 733 positives with five negatives, none recent, and of the two most recent ones, one seems to be the other party's fault, and the other actually contained praise. Might be he just wanted to avoid a potentially confrontational transaction. The probelm with eBay is that everyone's expectations are different: something you could use if it went cheaply is someone else's Holy Grail. Since it's basically a big yard sale, you can't expect people to be experts in what they dig out of Granddad's basement. I notice he did include a correction, so the list got his attention at least!

Personally, I have no use for the stuff, even if I could afford the shipping, but I have to admit it quickens the pulse: uncovering caches of cool old stuff is part of our mission! And there are plenty of people on this list who could put this stuff to good use. Even it it isn't Reynolds H.M. or 531 or Accles & Pollock or whatever. Even if you didn't use it to make bikes (for instance, furniture: make yourself a lugged stereo rack or coffee table ;-)

But in any case, I'd sure like to know more about this pile of stuff! Even the boxes are interesting ;-)

Lou: If it goes out for short money it may be a reasonable investment, but it looks awful risky. I can't deal with indignant sellers, that would turn me away if I was interested. Maybe I should call Harry Butler of fake Hetchins fame. Maybe he'd want them. Peter Naiman Boston, MA
