Hello Otis,

I am not a track expert, but let me mention what I know about track wheels...

Track wheels generally have a much higher spoke tension than road wheels - sometimes 120 lbs + spoke tension. This allows more direct power trransmission to the rim from the hub because track bike riders need quicker acceleration. Track wheels tend to wear out more quickly due to this higher spoke tension. This is also why true track wheels are uncomfortable to use on the road - the spokes are so tense, they do not absorb road vibration and make for an uncomfortable ride.

You may want to reconsider using this wheel set for extended road trips and the wheels may be great for criterium races... However, may other CD members correct me if I am wrong but Wolber Super Champion Arc En Ciel rims I thought were road rims...

Regards, Steve Neago Cincinnati, OH
