Subject: [CR]Anyone heard of Dayton saddles?

I've picked up an old leather saddle with a Dayton name plate on the back and oval stamps either side with Specially Designed at the top, Dayton at the bottom and Mass Start in the middle. It's obviously a well made saddle and looks up to the Brooks standard. I'm guessing that it's a late 1940s/early 1950s model. I know about Dayton Cycles of London and I think I remember a Dayton bike company in the US. Is there a connection here? Can anyone help with an approximate date or any other info on Dayton saddles.

Thanks,
