Subject: [CR]Colnago Super serial numbers...

Dear CR Listmembers, Do any list members know if there is a serial number registry or database for early 1970's vintage Colnago (Supers) bicycles? I have found what I'm almost certain is a 1970 or 1971 Colnago front fork with the four small holes in the fork crown.....that goes with a Colnago Super. The owner bought the Colnago used in Italy about 10-12 years ago. The owner had the complete fork rechromed in Italy. The fork is not installed on the bicycleat present, but the owner states it originally came on the bicycle. This bicycle has the long Campagnola dropouts and Colnago cutouts on three lugs. BUT IT HAS TOO MANY BRAZE-ONS....top tube cable braze-ons, down tube shifter braze ons... The man bought the bicycle used in Italy and he is presently in Italy. I'm hoping to get more information on serial numbers for the early Colnago's prior to the owner's return. I have read Michael Kone's article,"Bicycle Highlight: 1971 Colango Super" from the now defunct, "The Vintage Racing Bicycle Newsletter", Issue #17, January 1999. Mike's article is a good informative read on the early Colnagos. Any help in serial numbers for the Colnago Supers would be greatly
appreciated.
Thanks!
Yours truly,
Martin Walsh in Vienna,Va.
