Others on this list could answer with more authority, but here's my thoughts: Looking at your photos and the bottom bracket i.d. stamping, typically a Masi made in Italy in the early 70s and before was marked with the city and size in cm to top of lug point. Your frame looks like it might measure 58cm to top of lug point and your numbers match this, "M58G". The "M" stands for Milano where the shop is located.
Some of the city codes: M for Milano V for Verona B for Bergamo A for an unknown city at the moment P for another unknown city AV (Brian Baylis, "I have seen once and appears to be a Verona frame, don't know why the 'A'").
I have no idea what the last "G" is in your "M58G". The month and year would usually be on the fork steerer, as in "6 72" for July 1972 but your fork is missing in action...
I think it would be worthwhile to have a correct fork reproduced.
