This is a 1962 Schwinn Paramount with a date code of L57. The frame is 55cm or 21/2 inches center to center. It has the beautiful classic Nervex chrome lugs that are in excellent shape, as is the rest of the chrome that shows. This bike looks like it was once all chrome that has been repainted orange with no decals, but still retains its original headbadge. This is the much sought after touring model that is simply \x{201C}a great riding bike\x{201D}. All the original parts have been replaced making this an excellent candidate for a full restoration project, or converting into the ultimate \x{201C}Rivendell-Style\x{201D} touring/road bike. It could also just be fully overhauled and ridden as is for years of enjoyment.
It currently has: Suntour derailleurs , Suntour barcon shifters, Shimano hubs, Weinman 605 side-pull brakes, Sugino cranks, generic bars-stem-headset, Cinelli saddle, Zeus seat post, and 27\x{201D} clincher rims.
