(cut) I can go to any number of other lists to talk about classic wood boats, classic guitars, classic furniture. I really don't need nor want to hear CR list member's take on these subjects, thatyouverymuch. My opinion? It's called "off topic" and it is.(end)

I think we're only mentioning the synergy of things here, the Gestalt of the above topics. To not do so is somewhat artificial and undervalues the appreciation of any given one. What does the artist or craftsman do? The artist says, " I can do very little about the chaos around me, but at least I can reduce to perfect order this square of canvas, this chunk of stone".. Or this lugset, etc. Period correct vintage Masis momentarily reduce the world to some sort of order for me, as long as I'm looking at or riding the thing. While we're at it, anyone want to help me reduce my old Richard Sachs Signature to perfect order? I'm looking for a decent used SR crankset, no flutes, etched, in the 172.5 175 mm range? Or is that too late of a component to be on-topic? Please respond off-list and off topic, if you have such a crank.
