So, it is o.k. (on topic) to discuss (on list), the exact size, shape & color choice of the spade cutout in the lug of lets say, a Mario Confente frameset, but not o.k. to talk about whatever may have inspired him to make the design choices he did? Is the "product" really the only thing we care about here, or is the process of interest also and therefore on topic? Obviously no one here really wants to discuss the nuances of guitar building, but the mental exercise of comparing the two processes (guitar & frame building)seems not only worthy of our interest but on-topic as well. Here is an example. The gorgeous Peter Wiegle frame at the cirque had a unique paint scheme. Everyone who saw the bike admired it. Is it off topic to discuss the inspiration for the paint scheme? I can go to any number of other lists to talk about classic wood boats, classic guitars, classic furniture. I really don't need nor want to hear CR list member's take on these subjects, thatyouverymuch. My opinion? It's called "off topic" and it is.
