I recently went to a chrome replater and asked about replating the heads on Campy chainring bolts/nuts. He laughed and said that the process used to replate would completely obscure the fine lettering on the nuts. He referred me to a jeweler for further help.

It turns out the jeweler (a college buddy of mine) only works with gold plating and does not know anyone who works with chromium plating.

Does anyone know where I may find info on plating parts at home through electrolysis or who accepts mail orders for fine chrome plating of bike parts?

Thanks, Steve Neago
