Martin, Get ahold of a copy of Eugene Sloan's The Complete Book of Bicycling, an old copy (1970 to 75 or so). Trident Press, sbn:671-27053-2. See chapter 11: "Your tires and how to care for them". Full instructions w/ diagrams and
drawings. Have fun.
Knowledge is freedom.
