The old tymers (now gone) that I talked to that had these bikes in California in the early 1950s said they couldn't file the teeth off their Cambio Corsa/Paris-Roubaix dropouts fast enough to braze on a derailleur tab and affix a sparkly new Gran Sport. Sentimentally doesn't figure into the equation when you're racing and your racing bike is no longer current, I guess.

Different times and different sensibilities...
