I did. The silence "speaks" volumes....

I remember reading many "post-Cirque" messages stating/implying that "It's NOT about the bike!" These were actually the write-ups that touched me the most, for example the one forwarded by Dale from Mary Richardson. Now, it seems more like "It's all about the DATE". While I enjoy the "technical" aspects of this list and am continuously learning from it, I definitely do not have any problem seeing a bit of the "human element" incorporated as well. Interesting humans tend to be multi-faceted with multiple interests or "inspirations", often some of these interests may be intertwined to some degree. As a tool & die maker by profession, I often relate easily to others who also make precision things with their hands - be it bicycle frames or fine furniture (Hi Dennis!). As a semi-professional musician (with a collection of vintage guitars and amplifiers), I also understand the "influences/inspiration" concepts that carry over into MANY aspects of a person's "being" or personal philosophy. But as a "list lurker", I'd really better just shut up. Apologies in advance. But I *do* miss Richard's posts!
