Subject: [CR]New old Zeus questions

I'm having fun tearing down several very dirty and neglected bikes that I bought as a group recently. One of them is a Zeus that came as a complete bike minus wheels. The frame is very neat with cut out lugs and chrome fork and stays. Zeus fork ends and droputs, of course. The decals or stickers are all gone leaving only that sticky residue. Components were Zeus "Alfa" group, looking like Campy Valentino copies. Brakes are Zeus Alfa centerpull. The cranks are the type that resemble the TA cranks. Here's my first problem. I know from the CR archives that the crank bolts are 16mm. And I have an old 2-piece Stronglight crank tool with a 16mm socket but it doesn't seem to fit in to get at the bolts. Standard 16mm sockets are, of course, too thick to fit. Is there a different tool I could use to remove the bolts? I'm assuming that my Campy extractor will then work to pull the cranks. My other problem is a stuck Cinelli stem. The bolt head (7mm hex?) is stripped out and very rounded What's the SOP here? Should I assume that it's trashed? Attempt to drill it out and then find a replacement bolt? Assume that the end of the stem within the fork is stuck, too? My plan was to remove all components, clean and replace what's too far gone and then rebuild the bike with a period correct wheelset. I got several Zeus 2001 parts in the deal, including some nice looking calipers. There are 3 trashed and broken rear derailleurs so if anyone needs small parts just let me know. Photos are next but I must clean up everything first! Thanks! Fred ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
