Excuse me, but I feel I'm qualified to answer this question...

Daniel Rebour's drawings were done from photos that he personally took at the Trade Shows. I can offer no reference other than the knowledge that this is the way technical drawings were done "back in the day". Pen, India ink, sable brush, white gouache, scratch board, and lots of photo reference.
