Metal fly screen material works also for the shim in a pinch.

Single bolt posts are not my favorite. In the world of engineers, any design that depends on friction under vibration and impact loads is suspect. In fact the design would fail design review every time.

Hey, in our little world the ultimate is a Campy Record two bolt post and a Brooks Swallow so you can get to the bolts.

And compared to a one bolt post, I, for one, would rather have a straight post with a Brooks or Ideale clamp. They don't have infinite adjustment but they stay put (especially the Ideale with the two extra rear bolts).

Take it apart, and cut a shim of medium-grit sandpaper to fit between the two surfaces, with a hole for the through-bolt. Put it back together, clamp it at the angle you like, and ride. The grit makes microdents on BOTH surfaces, right through the paper. I don't like those posts, but it works (at least on soft ones like Kalloy). With 20:20 hindsight, it is perfectly obvious!
