I never had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Staub in person either. But
from my email exchanges with him I can say without a doubt that he really was a
real "McCoy". He really was unassuming and once you got into an exchange with
him, you always knew he was a true expert and lover of the Bicycle, no doubt
about it. It was at least good to hear that he pass-on while riding. I could
only be so lucky. I feel that the CR list has a real loss at his passing on. My
heart-felt sympathies go out to
his family and those who knew him well. I too, hope to meet him someday in
that big velodrome in the sky. Peace.
