This does seem to be a somewhat touchy subject these days, much more so than 30 years ago. The pink Mercier bikes come to mind as a true "classic" color. Listmember Jonathan Greene has a wonderful Hampsten bike painted to match the Maglia Rosa that Hampsten proudly won. I think it looks great. And, how could I forget the Sep/Oct 83 Bicycling magazine article with the "pink" bicycle that Brian Baylis built. That was my first exposure to Baylis and to Richard Sachs' bicycles. I dogeared those pages like a teenager with a bootlegged copy of Hustler! Of course, when I queried Brian about it, he said it was "salmon", not pink. I think rose and salmon do sound a lot better.....Lou Deeter, Orlando FL
