Subject: [CR]French toe straps

Finally finished getting my recently acquired Raleigh RRA ready to be my daily training bike. When I got the bike it had some cheap French wide pedals suitable for street shoes. I dug through the goodies (I know this box had not been opened since 1978) and found a pair of Marcel Berthet #23 pedals with "toutan" plastic straps and some Afa aluminum screw down toe strap pulls. I don't remember the toutan straps but the Afa pulls came off of Pierre Trentin's road training bike from the '68 Olympics. I bought the bike in 1971, robbed it of the classic bits, and built it up for my then wife. It was a "Sauvage Lejeune" which is a a marque since retired as it was very, very politically incorrect. The head badge was of an stylized African "savage" presented in a manner guaranteed to offend everyone. You might remember Pierre Trentin as the French fellow who won the gold in the 1 km Time Trial and also paired with the very popular Daniel Morelon to take the gold in the tandem track event at the Mexico City Olympics. Pierre was a 5'6' "Hulk". I seem to remember that his brother also was a bike racer. By the way, I need two of the red anodized aluminum pivot pins for Weinmann brake levers and also two Carlton black hoods for same. The RRA came with safety-levers. Pobrecita. Valgame dios. Can anyone help?
