Subject: [CR]needed vintage bike bits.....

Greetings from Sunny CA.

Its finally time to get my new old w. d. stevenson up and pedaling... which leads me to my first need... pedals.... im kinda morally committed to good old fashion toe clips.. and my stevenson came with some look oh so modern looking cleaty thingies with LOOK stamped on them (can u tell which CR member did not work with moses at a bike shop in the 60's, 70's or 80's)

so i need pedals......the campagnolo crank arm that the nice ski binder thingies came outta is marked 9/16 X 20 F,, which is either a secret message from lance armstrong or the thread and size info that i need

i just missed a set of Campy NR pedals for seventy some dollars.. there was another set in a box for like $!50..... these are for a rider.. im not building a drag queen ( a bike u drag around to show people.. phrase borrrowed from the vintage car world)

i have not a clue what a fair price or correct pedals and clips for my new bike are....

can anyone help me.... tell me what to buy and i will buy it.. tell me what to pay and i will pay it.....( u have a real pilgrim here).. to quote Blanche Dubois, " I have always depended on the kindness of strangers. (Is Blanche Dubois off topic????)

second thing i need is a set of gum rubber brake hoods for the campy brakes on my latest golden oldie....... i have no opinion as to whether or not i should buy campy hoods or go with the decidedly cheaper abiet perfectly functional knock offs.

again i throw myself at the mercy of the CR brother( and sister) hood....

.tell the pilgrim what to buy and where to buy it and i will happily submit to your bidding...( second pilgrim opportunity here)

answering off list so as not to clutter the hallowed halls with my pathetic problems is fine.....
