I have a Phil Wood BB on my 1973 Peugeot PX-10 and it is going great after 30 years of riding. I did replace the cartrige bearings once. That was about 5 years ago. I'm too old to remember the details of the task but I do recall that it was relatively easy and cheap to do. It is mostly hot and wet here so I believe that it is the quality of the product that accounts for the long service life, not the easy weather conditions.
