Subject: [CR]Effetibi And Carlton

Hello,

I am new to the list and want to say that I have really enjoyed reading the messages in the archive. I have learned a lot! I was wondering if anyone knows anything about a frame called an "Effetibi". I bought it from a person who says he got it from a person who bought it from Eddie B, the coach for the US team and he was told that it had been a spare (frame is NOS) for some South American team in the Pan Am games (late 70s early 80s). Who knows what the truth is. The frame is well built and is very nicely detailed - has no touring type braze ons and is set up for short reach brake set. Definitely appears to be Italian. I can send a photo to anyone who thinks he might be able to give further information.

Secondly I have an early 70's Carlton Professional in the Carlton team colors and was wondering if there is anyone else out there I can converse with who has the same? In all the years that I have had this bike (I have had it since I was a kid) I have yet to see another although there is a pic of a person cyclocrossing one on the CR site.

Look forward to your replies,

Mike Short.
