For Sale: vintage Rixe 52cm c-c, in need of some TLC. Measuring high on the "what was I thinking" scale, I bought this bike for my dad to ride when he comes over to visit. He prefers his ugly mixte Gitane, so I've lost motivation and interest in this bike. The paint is a nice sky blue color that is quite well preserved for its age, as are the chrome and decals. Has a cottered Stronglight Competition crankset, Huret Allvit derailleur-red pulleys. Single shifter is also Huret. Weinmann 810 sidepull brakes, Mafac levers, Milremo bars and stem, Normandy hubs on 27" Nisi Evian rims,Bluemel fenders. The frame has internal routing for the lighting wires, has headlamp and fork mounted dynamo.

Here's the project part: Has surface rust on spokes, toeclips, pedals, Atom skewers. Needs cables and housing. Needs stem clamp bolt. Rear fender is cracked but servicable. Needs rear light. Rims are true, but someone (not me) took a Dremel or something similar to the rims to clean/polish them, and left swirl marks and scratches in the alloy. Handlebars have pronounced mounting scratches, new bars and stem should be used. Saddle leather is quite hard. Needs new tires. See? I told you it's a project. $175 plus shipping.Continental US,Canada only. Photos available if interested. To calculate your shipping go to http://www.fedex.com click on rates, my zip code is 90740, box dimensions are 56x28x8.
