Hi David,

In addition to producing product under their own names, KKT (Kyokuto) were a supplier for Shimano and MKS (Mikashima) were a supplier for SunTour, so their relationship was competitive. I'm not sure how far back in time each reaches, but they were both producing nice pedals during CR-approved '70s and early-'80s. I'm more familiar with MKS product than KKT, and I have to say that some early-'80s MKS Unique Custom Road and MKS-built Superbe Road pedals I have are the prettiest traditional quill pedals I've ever seen.

Cheers,

Paul "Pedal Fetish" Brodek Hillsdale, NJ
