Hi all, I wanted to let the list know about my recent Mercian frame order, and the absolutely stellar policies of Mercian Cycles. I wrote them one e-mail and sent a few pictures of the new frame I recently received. They have been absolutely fantastic to deal with.
The following is the response back from Grant at Mercian: Hi Rod Sorry to here that you are not happy with your frame. I have had a look at the pictures you sent to Jane the other day and can see the trouble. As you understand each lug is filed by hand and brazed in place. This does not make any difference to the strength of the frame only the cosmetic appearance. But if you are not happy by all means return the frame and we will build another.

I showed pictures of my frame to many of you and received many nice responses, thank you! I really was not sure what to do about the frame, I just knew I was not pleased by the head tube lugs being "off". A lot of the responses said the frame is fine and has character, many more responses said they would be very displeased and would request a new frame. I did not request a new frame, I merely let them know I was not as pleased as I could be.
With the exception of the front points of the head lugs being off, my frame came out beautiful! I am very, very happy with it overall. Mercian is an extremely reputable company, and I may be ordering my third Mercian frameset in the not to distant future. For the price and service they provide, you cannot beat a Mercian frame for the $$$. They unequivocally stand behind their work!
