Just a few words on the BBQ and ride last Saturday. I wanted to thank all those who came over to enjoy a gorgious day with us. Special thanks to Maurice Brenahan for being BBQ Chef for the day, Ken Denny and Maurice for leading the ride, and Tom Adams for making it up here for the day from New Jersey. Special thanks also to Five Speed Jack (Jack Demerest) for riding a restored 1903 Dayton fixed gear on the 35 mile ride.

We all pulled into Larz Anderson Park between 8:30 to 9:00AM on Saturday and spent a good half hour or more checking out each others cycles and a bit of conversation. Maurice bruoght of a very neat late 50s Chrome Mondia Super he had just completed, and Ken rode up from Boston on his gorgious full chrome "48" Hurlow. Dan Borden brought over a 1938 Hetchins Brilliant fixed gear, Tom Adams an earlylate 50s Ephgave #1, Jim Kerr came in to ride but I don't recall what he was on, I brought in my latest prize, a 1971 Hetchins Hellenic Spyder, and of course Jack with his "03" Dayton. Apologies to two members of the CR as at 54 I'm suffering from a bit of memory loss, but two other members came up and we can't recall names. One of them rode a very neat Bill Boston.

The ride stretched for 35 miles covering some of the more scenic road through Brookline, Newton, to Dover and back. Ken and Maurice took turns leading the pack with Ken occasionally going to the back of the pack to check on how the old folks like me, who were trailing the pack. According to Jack, we covered the course in about one hour and twenty seven. Upon returning to the MOT at Larz, we started getting ready for the BBQ and Chris Barbour and two members of the VCC rode over after their morning ride.

Not much more to tell, as we had lunch and went our separate ways by about one thirty.

We'll host another ride and BBQ in Spring, most likely in May at Larz Anderson Park, and good luck to Chuck with his Velo, wish I could get out there this year.
