This may seem strange , a Brit asking an essentially American list how to adjust a Sturmey-Archer hub gear. 3 speeds I can deal with but I am having trouble selecting first gear with a 4 speed FW as fitted to a 1963 A.S.Gillott. Where do you set the control lever when adjusting the indicator rod? I took it to my LBS and the guy ended up firing the rod across the shop floor! Thanks. Mark Stevens Dingwall Scotland.
