Paul - at the Great Western bike rally in 1986 I rode with someone riding a blue "Ringer" and always wondered about it. When I asked about the bike it seemed like the owner (presumeably you) did'nt really want to tell me about it! Now, 20 years later, the truth is learned. Amazing!

Jan,

Thanks for your update on Roland Csuka. Ernrst's remarks to me in 1995 about his brother's poor health might have been to deflect some of the guilt he might have felt for sending me two "woofers". I don't know. I really like the bike, but I've never had another custom builder send me a frame so vastly different from my expectation without a explanation. The frame is a joy to ride, steers well, has good balance and a supple fork, so the essentials were there all the time, under the tawdry clothes, so to speak. I'll try and get some pictures of my old "Ringer" to post.

Cheers,
