Pete, I have a 3S that you can have for the postage. However, it is the nut and washer style instead of the bolt-on style you are looking for. If you want it, let me know.

List members,

Will I be able to easily find a replacement bottom bracket spindle for my 1978 Raleigh Super Course with Raleigh-pantographed Sakae SR alloy cranks? Unlike the usual cotterless spindles, this one doesn't use crank bolts. The spindle has integral studs on both ends. Nuts thread onto the studs to hold the crank arms onto the spinle's tapered square shanks. On one side the stud has stripped and is not repairable. The spindle is black in color and says "3S2" on it.

I would prefer to replace the spindle with one that uses crank bolts instead of the integral stud/nut combination. Is a replacement or compatible spindle something I should expect my local bike shop to stock or is this a vintage part I will have to hunt for?

Thanks,
