about the bidding, which is now over $4000 for the Simplex derailleur. While I would normally agree with such a statement, in the case of this auction, I don't believe there is even the slightest possible difficulty in collecting the bid amount.

The high bidder is presently Allvitluxe from Japan. He is supremely dependable and fast-paying and nobody needs to have even the least doubt about him paying. I would even rate him above the venerable Kauzo! 468 transactions without any negatives or neutrals.

Belrey who is the second bidder on the auction, hails from Germany (I believe from Kiel). I have heard him described by German bike collectors as being the German equivalent of Ken Denny (What does that mean?). He has 2 negatives, one describing him as almost blackmailing... the other saying no further contact after winning the auction.

All the other bidders are either listmembers, past listmembers or Japanese ebayers with perfect records (Kauzo does appear with one negative, but it was perhaps even justifiable). With these bidders, the seller will have no problems collecting the money offered.

Given that Steve mentioned bidders backing out, has anybody ever compiled a list of bidders that backed out on CR listmembers' auctions? While I can't tell of any bidders backing out on any of my auctions, I can speak of a CR-listmember who kindly volunteered to back out because of the low price that he got the item for (I declined his offer.)
