Well ,

The first thought that leaps to mind is :

At least two regular contributors to the C. R. List live in the Kansas City area !!

Calvert Guthrie :

Sarah Gibson :

I've visited Old Town Cyclery several times , and can recommend it whole-heartedly ! The shop is great . Sarah is terrific . And did you know they have their own line of frames ? Made by a local frame-builder ? ( I sure would like to have an Old Town Cyclery Santa Fe , with say maybe a Centaur triple group on it , myself :^)

And this Kansas City shop has been recommended to me by a list-member :

"Midwest Cyclery on Main St, a bit south of Downtown"

And surely there must be nice bicycle shops in the university-town of Lawrence ?

And my "local bicycle shop" is very friendly , even if they probably sell more back-packs , hiking shorts , and parkas , than they do bicycles , still good people ( and the best maps ! ) at , The Pathfinder , Manhattan .

But none of that really helps you in Hutchinson very much , I know .

I wonder what's in Wichita ?

( other than the restless spirit of Glenn Campbell )
