To the gang: Since we are on subject with Phil items, I have an early set of Phil hubs with a label on the rear hub which cautions the user not to use a French treaded freewheel. The flange area appears to be aluminum (not very well finished) while the body is chromed steel (complete with slight pitting) These hubs are built up on 27" Weinmann concave rims. The rear hub is hi-flange while the front is standard.

I got the wheels from the late Fred DeLongs estate so they could even be prototypes. They are still quite smooth and highly usable. My question is, what year would they be?? (approx.)
