Subject: [CR]Raleigh Team Pro lore: they were dutch!

Thanks for the many responses to my Raleigh Team Pro 753 question. Seems that at least the frame alone was available in 753 tubes. I visited Guenther Haritz today, owner of a local bike shop and member of the TI-Raleigh Team 1974-77. He told me that the team bikes have been built by their dutch mechanic. He usually built bikes in his own work shop in Holland but he had to travel to Nottingham to build the team's bikes so that the frames could be labeled "Made in England". Most team members also didn't like the Brooks saddles and used other ones. Only when pictures were taken everybody had to re install the Brooks. Don't want to stir up uproar in GB but that's what he told me...
