Hi Stevan,

I agree that the bolt from Jerry's bike is not correct. As far as making reproductions goes I've already done that. I didn't use hex stock I milled the heads. They are made from stainless steel to avoid having to chrome plate them.

Dale originally asked me to make him a couple. Then Sterling Peters heard about it from Brian Baylis and he wanted 3; so I made about a dozen extra. I few other people asked about them as well, but I've forgotten who they were (sorry). In any case, I still have some if anybody wants one they are $50 each including domestic postage.

As you describe, they have 10 mm hexagonal heads. The shank is 7 mm and there are 2 special washers. The top of the bolt head as well as the nut are slightly crowned. The end of the bolt is crowned to match the end of the nut. In a perfect world the nut would snug up to the exact point on the threads so that their respective crowns would match up to a perfect smooth radius; but I've never seen one that does.

Here is a picture of a NOS Cinelli bolt that sold on ebay for $ 225 - yikes! http://www.centerportcycles.com/images/noscinellibolt.jpg

Here is my knock-off: http://www.centerportcycles.com/images/newcinellibolt.jpg
