Does anyone recall when the Mavic G40 rim first hit the market? I remember first seeing MA40's in 1985, and the G40 was around for a while prior to that, but I don't know exactly when it was first available. I'm thinking about these rims because I'm thinking about starting a new project, something old enough to use Campy block letter callipers and the knobbly shift levers, which I figure would be pre-1983 (and thus OT!). As for a frame... I'll be looking for a 60 cm (to top) racing frame with very good original paint. Merckx, Derosa, Colnago, Gios, Moser, Raleigh Team, Team Miyata... you know, just in case anyone has any junk that's cluttering up their home.
