Subject: [CR]Dates On French Hubs 1970's - was - Mavic Rims

By the way , speaking of date codes . . .

On many of those Atom-Normandy-Maillard hubs ,
>From the late-1960's ,

Up through the early-1980's ,

On very many French bicycles ,

And Schwinns ,

And Raleighs ,

I used to think if I looked at a hub shell , and saw something like 10 72 , or 72 10 , that it would obviously indicate a manufacturing date of October 1972 .

Then I looked at more of those hub shells . I've seen numbers such as 15 72 , or 26 73 .

Well how about that ! Obviously , on at LEAST SOME of those hubs , one of the numbers is the year , and the other number is a "batch number" or a "lot number" or maybe even a "building number" or a "work-station number" , etc. , etc .
