I think it has been well documented that Harry Hetchins was a Russian Jew who emigrated to UK. As with the Russian Jews who emigrated to the US in the early 20th century, these emigrants brought a strong cultural identity which contributed to the culture of their adopted lands. I think Harry Hetchins' identity as a Russian Jew is every bit as legitimate as Mario Confente's identity as a native Italian in understanding his life and work.
