Raoul,

I made the fatal mistake of showing the "cheeseboard" to my wife. Now she wants one, and having one sent to Australia is way more than I can pay for a bike, so I am making a desperate attempt at my own "cheeseboard" style with a Victa mixte frame to keep her happy. But Kai just keeps on getting me in trouble, last night she saw the wicker basket....

Unfortunately, I have sent Kai at least 2 E-mails about a pending order and he has not returned any as of yet. So I have had to source from other suppliers. But his web-site is usually on my desktop everyday.

On Friday , 7 November 2003 , I had a wonderful telephone conversation with ,

Kai Matsuda

who is the owner and operator of ,

momvelo

http://store.yahoo.com/momovelo

And this was all because Tom Sanders sent me this address for some of the most lovely bicycle-related color photos I've ever seen :

http://www.momovelo.com/cheeseboard.html

( Thanks Tom ! )

If you have not visited the web site , you should . I'd visited the web site perhaps a year and a half ago . But things have REALLY changed on that web site ! As a matter of fact , it's different again today ( Sunday morning ) ! Here is an example :

http://store.yahoo.com/momovelo/varstwhtr.html

And , my point is , Kai is a terrific person . He is a native of the U.S.A. , with deep connections in Nippon . He makes trips over there several times each year . He also has a close relative living in Europe . So ! He can find some really neat items !

Kai mentioned that he is trying very earnestly to carry items which are NOT carried by the good folks at other businesses such as American Cyclery , Jitensha Studio , Rivendell , etc .

If you browse the web site , you'll find amazing bicycle parts and paraphernalia , along with some unique clothing , books on artistic design , and some of the nicest pens and sketchpads you've ever seen !

O.K. , obviously the Berkeley - San Francisco area is just entirely TOO nice ! In alphabetical order :

American Cyclery

Jitensha Studio

momovelo

Rivendell

who did I forget to mention ?
