I have a ~1970 Peugeot Junior Racer (sport bike) which I bought about 5 years ago and then restored for my kids. It is technically called a "Peugeot UG 45 CX." She is actually very similar to a Peugeot AO-8/UO-8 of the period but with 24" wheels, a Simplex Mini Prestige rear derailleur (works great!). I added Mafac junior brake levers (curiously not supplied as original). Other then that she has the usual high flange Normandy hubs, Mafac Racer brakes, child sized leather saddle, short Nervar crankset, etc. 4 years ago my daughter, Leah, learned to ride on her and two years ago moved up to a 19" Team Fuji which she rides like a pro; she even rides rollers with me every other night now! This season my son, Aaron, was able for the first time to move up to the Peugeot from his mountain bike. He's been itching for two years to get on it. He's pretty good at shifting and braking but at 10 years old our rides are limited by the roads I allow him to ride on. We both have old wool Peugeot jerseys in our sizes (his NOS on eBay from infamous "Collalbo") and when we ride, I am of course on my white 1970 PX-10E and he on his white mini racer, both in matching jerseys; Aaron thinks it's cool (me too), Leah just roles her eyes at us.

Great way to get your kids started.

I can shoot some jpgs of it if anyone is curious.

Eric Elman Somers, CT with 4" of snow down and a total of 10" - 24" predicted "pinpoint accuracy" is how one station describes their forecast!
