I did make a purchase from Carsten after the grab-bag auctions ended. The item was a NOS Campagnolo cottered bottom bracket and I received it in short order. I've made several other purchases from him over the past few years and they were all handled quite professionally. Although I was tempted to try for the Bianchi on his grab-bag offering, I held off - a quick mental calculation of the odds showed that this was a silly thing to do unless you also wanted a bag of random parts or you enjoy gambling (and losing)

I might join the list of the ticked-off if I had lost money on the grab-bag deal but I wouldn't agonize over your most recent purchase; you'll likely receive it. I also wouldn't count on any useful help from PayPal or eBay. Like many others on this list, I've appealed to them in the past and discovered it to be a great waste of time.

By the way, although I would bid without worry for anything cyclo-network is selling now, I've held back several times because his shipping charges are so high these days. You can easily pay $28 to ship a single small item and you need to read the fine print to find this out.

I just bought two items from a German seller called Cyclo-Network, but now that I read the fine pint, I see this is associated with Carsten Rehbein. I believe there was a thread about Carsten stiffing several members on a "grab-bag" auction. Did Carsten ever make good on these auctions? Has anyone actually received goods as promised from Carsten in the last two months? Anyone know the procedure for withdrawing a bid after an auction has ended due to past misconduct by a seller? Wish I had read the fine print and discovered the connection before bidding. This could be messy now. Isn't there a procedure to purchase buyer protection through PayPal? Does this actually work?
