Buy it now and starting price of $1750?

http://ebay.com/<blah

The savvy, insider price (=wholesale) was around $750 when the 50th Anni group came out in 1983. Over the years I have been asked what they are worth and my answer was always $1200 to $1750 depending on how serious you were in actually buying or selling it.

Oschner (wholesale to the industry only) always asked between $3000 and $7000??? (serial # dependent price) for the Anniversary groups they still had. I don't know if they ever sold any at those prices.

Like the Shimano Anniversary group, the Campagnolo 50th is not hard to find if you want one, was considered ostentatious by most (not me) at the time and never was a hot collectable. The numbered three belt buckle set (very beautiful in my opinion) was another example of something that never took off.

Sounds like an okay price to me...
