Subject: [CR]mavic components for sale!

Hi there, someone must be reading my mind! Just picked up the latest "Cycling Weekly" magazine and in the "for sale" section is the following: 4 x Mavic SSC rear mechs inc one new, retrofriction levers,Campagnolo nuovo Record rear mech,Simplex 3000 rear mech plus bar-end lever. No prices, open to offers.UK telephone #01536-403966. I have no relation to the seller, just passing on interesting information.

Mavic retrofriction gear levers were made by Simplex but had no Simplex engraving on them,i.e they were plain...quite rare and a good "upgrade" for a Super Record equipped bike, many pro teams used these levers even though they were sponsored by Campagnolo.A very rare item, which I'm not sure ever was avaliable to the public, was the Campagnolo "retrofriction" type gear lever which was used by Robert Milliar and the "Panasonic" team in the late 80s. Very cold and icey ride in to work this morning on my 1968 holdsworth Super Mistral with 62" fixed gear! Happy cycling!
