Open 4CD was introduced mid-late 80's, so just too late to be on-topic. If I recall correctly it was 1985.
For the Modolo question I remember the list period specific price hierarchy being, starting from cheapest:
Flash Speedy Professional (later version was called Prestige) Kronos (the Kronos were useless as brakes but were fascinating)
