Cielo is indeed the word for sky and/or heaven. While celeste is most commonly known in Italian as the baby blue color, it also is an adjective to describe things pertaining to the sky/heaven, hence 'celestial' as per Jerry's note. There is however also the adjective 'celestiale' in Italian.

While living in Italy, I used to own a 1960's Fiat that was a baby blue colour that everybody called 'celestino' or little 'celeste'.
