Dale & colleagues - I think the Italian theme is great, but, he said (tongue firmly in cheek) what to bring depends on what "Italian" means, and what subcategories of excellence we wish to honor.

---> If John Pergolizzi and Steven Maasland DON't bring their cracked-stay Cinelli, then maybe I should bring one that is really competitive in the category "shows most experience in daily life" category. Of course, it could be beaten by that lovely one with the Altenberger kit that came a couple of times. That had serious Mojo.

---> Can we at least acknowledge the value of "best patina" as a category? If so, I won't try to find the real red under the oxidation on a Roma Sport fixed gear with uniquely brownish Magistroni cranks...

---> I guess we consider California Masis to be Italian. Would a Medici be at least an honorary Italian? Built by alumni of the Masi operation, uses 70 mm bb with Italian threads, and darned near Masi-clone fit and lugwork?

Since this isn't competitive, I'm just pulling the beard, and looking forward to seeing everyone again.
