I had a Gazelle that I used for single speed commuting in Harrisburgh while attending school in that area. It was a 70s Tour de L'avenir model, nothing overly fancy by any means. It had "continental lugs and tubing" decal on the seat tube. Not sure what that meant but I know the frame had a ding in the top tube where someone attempted to pry the U-lock off and there were bits of bent pipe near the bike so I suspect the decal stood for "lead laced"

The frames increased progressively in stiffness as they increased in size! Gazelle almost exclusively used Reynolds 531 tubing. The test results were repeated on Gazelle frames a year or too later too. <<

I'm curious as to how one might recognize one of these Gazelle frames? What time period and/or model would I look for; or any large 531 frame would do? Thanks.
