Subject: [CR]Peugeot CFX10, PRO 10, or PXN10?

I purchased a NOS Peugeot frame from Wiesbaden, Germany, in early November on eBay (http://ebay.com/<blah> seller, Thomas Reitz, was a pleasure to deal with -- I received the frame in four weeks time, shipped via the Deutsche Post and U.S. Mail (shipping normal parcel post for $60.00).

According to several Peugeot catalogs, this frame could be either a CFX10, or an unbuilt PRO 10 or PXN10. Any pointers from list members on how to determine precisely what it is?

If it's a PXN10 or a PRO 10, I've got plenty of information regarding how it should be built up. However, if it's a CFX10, the decision on how I build it up isn't so easy.

According to Peugeot in one of their catalogs, "The CFX10 Peugeot 'Super Competition' frame and fork set is constructed with Reynolds 531 butted tubing. This professional set is completely hand-finished at the Peugeot 'ateliers course' -- or special workshops -- and it features Nervex racing lugs, Simplex forged drop-outs, special brazed cable guides and brazed-on cage fittings. The 'Super Competition' frame set may be fitted with virtually all of the world's top, professional equipment groups."

So, if it is a CFX10, I'm soliciting from the list alternative recommendations on how to build the frame up with period correct professional equipment groups, other than those described for the PXN10 (Stronglight 106 cranks, Simplex SJA 102 front and SX410TSP rear derailleurs, MAFAC LS2 side-pull brakes, Atom 500 pedals, Mavic alloy clinchers) or the PRO 10 (Stronglight 107 cranks, Simplex SLJ 5500 C/P rear and SLJA 422 front ders., MAFAC LSX side-pull brakes, Maillard 700 pedals, MAVIC alloy tubulars).

Thanks in advance for your advice,
