Morning Pete,

Nomades were always around the bottom of Motobecane's lineup - in the early days, i.e., early 70's, they were listed with: "Light Steel Tubing," and then towards the end of the decade they featured "1020" and "2040" tubing. Finally, in the twilight days, they were listed with "High Tensile" tubing. They were always listed as weighing in around 29lbs during the 70's, but then the weight jumped to the 32 lb. range. Maybe the earlier tubing was a better grade than the "High Tensile" (gaspipe for sure) stuff.

Interestingly, they pretty much featured all French parts until the 80's when they were fitted with Japanese components - doubt there was 3 lbs difference in component weight!!??!!
