Hi Gang,

I just had a walk out on what is a beautiful day here in Ottawa - it is above freezing and the sun is shining - to my favourite bike dump, Burt's. Burt is one of those crusty sort of guys, but he is great when he gets to know you. He used to work in a regular bike shop and was a courier for a while. He is now set up in this old house which is just overflowing with bikes - most of cheap and cheerful quality but every now and then he gets something of note - he has a CCM 531 frame on his wall - I didn't know that CCM built with Reynolds he also had a Bertrand track frame. He only buys his stuff at auctions and buys out other bike shops when they close down. He apparently has a barn somewhere where he has some 600 or so bikes.

Anyway, I was able to score a Brooks B5N saddle for $15.00 CDN. (about $10.00 US), a pair of Mafac Racer calipers for $10.00 CDN (he had a box with many others in various states of repair), and finally a Mavic Championat (sp?) de Monde wheelset on Normandy Luxe hubs for $75.00 CDN. I haven't yet picked up the wheelset, I wanted to check with those of you in the know to find out what these rims are - they have nice red and gold foil stickers. Would these be suitable for the 1970-1 PX10E which I posted to the list the other day?
