I'm ammused by the current Hetchins badge thread.

As much fun as it sounds to round up someone with 'basic jewelery skills' to make some badges, I believe that there are LOTS of professional badge makers who do this kind of work daily.

A quick Google search turned up this company:

I've looked at badge makers in the past and many of them seem to dwell in England, the home of fine bicycle headbadges. It seems to be quite the little industry.

I learned lost wax die casting from my father (who learned it from his father.) I also learned to look for the help of professionals when taking on tasks for which I am ill-equipped. Making jewelery is one thing. Casting headbadges is quite another.
